Finalists were recently announced for the 2024-25 bet365 Country Racing Victoria Club of the Year award and among the nominees is Seymour Racing Club.
The club is competing against Geelong Racing Club, Sale Turf Club and Warrnambool Racing Club for the award.
Clubs are being judged on a suite of various categories, including customer service, community involvement, capital improvements, governance and marketing.
The winner will be announced at Country Racing Victoria’s Annual Awards Night on August 23.
Regardless of the outcome, the good news is already rolling in at Seymour Racing Club.
This marks the second year running the club has been nominated for this award and Seymour has been awarded an additional three race meetings for the 2025-26 season.
SRC chief executive Chris Martin was rapt to see the contributions of staff and members recognised through the Club of the Year nomination.
“This is fantastic recognition and reflects the hard work our staff put in every day to put the Seymour Racing Club on the map,” Martin said.
“We’re fortunate to have the support of a great range of sponsors across the community, a fantastic board behind us and a rapidly growing membership base.
“Over the past couple of years, we’ve made substantial upgrades to the facilities here for both trainers and patrons.
“With an extra three race meetings next season, it’s pleasing to see all the hard work being noticed — and we have ambitious plans for the club’s future growth.”
While the final meet of the 2024-25 season, Studs and Farm Day, wrapped up proceedings on Sunday, racing fans won’t have to wait long for on-track action to resume, with the first race meeting of the 2025-26 season at Seymour arriving on August 15 in the form of Members’ Day.
