On a warm but windy autumn day the Hoppers travelled to Dookie to take on a strong Power outfit.
There were flashes of quality interspersed with minutes of madness as the senior Hoppers again failed to neutralize delivery into the Dookie forward line with the Power full forward kicking 11.
Ridley on the ball was an inspired move, Woodhouse up ground and deep forward got down and dirty, Kirchen in the pivot provided a link and Vodusek in the ruck continues to battle hard and won many tap outs.
Great to see Jackson Wheeler as a 16-year-old play his first senior game and he presented well including a couple of shots on goal.
Also, young Pickles Davis had a run in the one’s and apart from a couple of dubious handballs made his presence felt.
Bruce also kicked 3 for the Hoppers. But it was all Dookie, easily.
Best players were Oliver Ridlay and Dillon McGillvray.

The Hoppers’ focus was to bring chaos to the game, and when they did, they were at their best, strong around the contest and relentless with effort.
The game on the scoreboard got away from the Hoppers but the group effort and intent didn’t drop.
Plenty of positives against bigger boys and the team keeps building, because the only way from here is up.

Bad kicking is bad footy. 10 behinds in the first term could have been catastrophic. But term 2 in tough conditions saw Rennie create a break and ultimately win by 57 points.
It was an even performance with Sanson and Cooper leading the way, well supported by Haack and Douglass who both put their head over the ball and kick well. Truey snagged 3 and Ednie 2 for the hoppers to go 4 straight.

A Grade
Rennie 19 defeated by Dookie United 44
Rennie A Grade took on Dookie United this weekend, going down 19–44 in a tough contest.
The scoreboard didn’t reflect the game, with the match feeling much closer than the final margin suggests.
Dookie United came out strong early, applying pressure across the court, but Rennie worked hard to stay composed and create opportunities through the midcourt.
There were patches of great ball movement and teamwork, with players stepping up and putting in consistent effort against a well-drilled opposition.
Defensively, Rennie never backed down, with strong contests and pressure forcing turnovers at different stages of the game. Through the centre, the work rate remained high, helping to transition the ball and keep pushing forward.
Awards: RNC Incentive - Chelsea Banfield, Judds Mensland - Claire Dawson, Free as a Bird - Jennika Parker and Yarrawonga Bakery - Demi Rhodes.
Plenty to take away from the game, with the team continuing to build and improve each week.
B Grade
Rennie 23 defeated by Dookie United 41
With a few more inclusions back this week and Rox’s first game, there was a buzz about the B Grade girls.
The team started strong, with Ella, Autumn and Indi applying great defensive pressure resulting in multiple turnovers. Alainah worked tirelessly throughout the centre, Rox provided great voice guiding the girls and Bree fought well for every centre pass.
Eb, Charlotte, Tess and Haylee rotated well in attack and all combos provided great drives and options both in and around the ring.
Unfortunately, the team couldn’t take the win but the positivity and determination of the team is to be commended.
Awards RNC: Incentive - Haylee Wilson, Lake Mulwala Hotel - Alainah, Yarrawonga Hotel - Ella Harvie, Showcase Jewellers - Indi Wheeler.
C Grade
Rennie 24 defeated by Dookie United 48
The girls showed real grit taking on a challenging game in the windy conditions at Dookie.
The defenders, Rach and Gaby, delivered an outstanding performance, applying strong pressure, staying close to their opponents, and creating plenty of turnovers.
The mid-court worked tirelessly, driving with purpose and consistently re-offering to support play. Millie and Lacey were relentless, covering the court with impressive fitness and determination. Eden stepped up brilliantly in WD, bringing energy, pressure, and valuable options for the team.
There’s a great opportunity this week to build on these strengths at training, continuing to grow individually while strengthening our connection and impact as a team.
The day wouldn’t be complete without a special mention of the Bassett family. Tess, our superstar, continues to shine wherever she’s needed—whether in defence or goals. Jason made his debut as umpire and looked right at home in the white shirt, showing consistency, fairness, and even a touch of entertainment. Narelle took on the team manager role and, while modest about making the big calls, kept everything running smoothly with organisation, efficiency, and a constant smile. Thank you all for your incredible contribution.
Awards: Club Mulwala - Rach Guppy, Lake Mulwala Hotel - Millie Lourie, Yarra News & Gifts - Eden Mackinnon, Miss Dolly (Players’ Player) - Gaby Dowling.

The girls travelled to Dookie for another round of netball, with the courts set up on a hill and the wind blowing strong but the sun shining.
Despite the wind, the girls settled in well and showed some great movement across the court.
There was excellent defensive pressure from Erin, who switched things up this week from goals to becoming the anchor in the back line. She read the play brilliantly all game.
With relentless support from Trudz and Jazzy, the girls kept the pressure on, picking up loose balls and forcing turnovers.
Through the midcourt, Dan worked tirelessly with strong leads and was always there to help wherever needed, while delivering sharp passes into our goalers with ease.
Eds had a very consistent game, doing all the little things right that helped the team.
Although the girls didn’t come away with the win, they are achieving their goals by improving each week and putting into practice the things we’ve worked on at training, and that’s what matters.

A fantastic win from the girls, the team learnt a lot and had to scrap for every ball making the win harder but much more rewarding.
Every week the girls have four focus points and every week they keep ticking boxes.
Charlotte Burrows rose to the occasion with speed and determination creating many opportunities for the goalers.
Jasi Lewis focused on her set tasks and smashed them out of the park with many turnovers at the hands of her hard work. The team are going from strength to strength, of course with setbacks but that's how we learn and grow every week. Well done team, bring on next week and keep up the hard work at trainings.

For the first game with our whole team back, everyone played extremely well.
In the defensive end Sienna, Lily and Ella worked tirelessly and applied immense pressure, creating lots of turnovers.
The shooters, Ava, Maisie and Chelsea fought well in the attack end, improving their goal accuracy with focus and determination.
Midcourters, Zali, Dakota and Carla fed the ball into the ring effortlessly, whilst also applying whole court defensive pressure.
It all came down to the last quarter where all the girls fought hard to come away with the win.
Awards: Ricky D’s Pizza - Chelsea Freestone, Momentum 360 - Zali Mathieson, Rhodes Family - Maisie Cope. Another awesome effort girls, well done!

Rennie 20 drew with Picola United 20
This week our Under 13s had a draw with Dookie. Both teams showed great composure and determination throughout the whole game right up until the final whistle.
In defence, our players worked tirelessly to contest every pass and force turnovers at key moments. Their communication and pressure made it difficult for Dookie’s attackers to find easy options.
Lennies voice on the court helped to direct the play and create opportunities for intercepts. Lennie had an outstanding game, taking multiple intercepts throughout.
Our shooters remained composed and accurate, making the most of their opportunities. They worked really well together. Ruby J had an impressive game she was thrown from goals to defence during the game. She showed composure when shooting and determination when defending.
In the mid court Abbey and Ruby F worked well together to move the ball down the court.
The final quarter was a battle for both teams and neither of them let down their fight.
The last five minutes went goal for goal, making it an exciting and intense finish. While we couldn’t quite come away with the win, the draw reflects the effort, resilience, and teamwork shown by the entire team.

A cooler start to the day for our second away game. The team played really well together and it was fantastic to see all their hard work at training come through on game day.
The team were moving the ball quickly down the court and converting the hard work to goals. It’s great to see the girls playing so well together.
Dookie United were short on players, so a big thank you to the girls who stepped in to help out, your sportsmanship made sure the game could go ahead and it was great to see everyone putting in 100% for both teams.
