Fundraiser coordinators Simone Sheene and Leslie Baker had planned to complete a 50km walk over two days.
But following a risk assessment, they have decided to complete the distance in three days.
It is still a shorter timeframe than the fundraiser’s suggested 10 days.
“Lesley and I have considered this and done a risk assessment,” Simone said.
“Due to the recent change in weather, as it is heating up, we have changed the walk distances.
“It would be beneficial to break the kilometres down due to the welfare of walkers and weather conditions.”
The newly scheduled times for the walks are:
• Walk one (20km) - Saturday, October 14; starting at Deniliquin Waring Gardens at 7.30am and following the river walk.
• Walk two (15km) - Sunday, October 15; starting at the Waring Gardens at 7.30am, along Cressy and Ends St to Crispe St, and then following the Cobb Highway.
• Walk three (15km) - Saturday, October 21; starting at the Waring Gardens at 7:30am. This will be a mystery walk to a yet to be revealed destination.
There is still time to register to join Lesley and Simone on the walk, or to contribute to their fundraising efforts.
