The funding will be used to progress four projects across the two council areas, with the money allocated from round two of the Sustainable Communities Program.
In Deniliquin, $4 million will be allocated to the establishment of the Perrin Park Early Learning Centre.
More than $1.5 million has also been allocated for the Deniliquin Saleyards, which will include investment in the cattle selling facility, which has been unusable for many years.
In our neighbouring local government area, Murray River Council has been allocated almost $1.5 million for its Moulamein Township Infrastructure Renewal and Riverfront Upgrade Project.
Almost $3 million has been allocated to a new childcare facility at Barham, and a whopping $10 million has been awarded to Murray Industrial Hemp Pty Ltd for a processing and manufacturing facility at Barham.
The funding, which is designed to offset the impacts of the Federal Government’s water recovery programs, will be administered by the NSW Government.
