Regional Development Minister Michael Settle has announced funding of $150,000 to secure the Gravelista event in 2026 and 2027.
“We’re bringing hundreds of visitors to Seymour and the surrounding region, boosting the local visitor economy and supporting communities and traders as the region continues to recover from the 2026 summer bushfires,” he said.
“These events are exactly what regional Victoria is all about — driving tourism, supporting local jobs and businesses and showcasing the best of our communities to the world.”
The event will serve as an official qualifying round for the 2027 Union Cycliste Internationale Gravel World Championships in France’s Haute-Savoie region.
From Seymour Racecourse, riders will tackle some of Australia’s fastest gravel roads through the Goulburn Valley, helping position Seymour as a globally recognised cycling destination.
Gravelista and destination partner Go Seymour are already working to attract Australian and international visitors to this year’s event on Sunday, October 25.
“This event is a fantastic showcase of the Goulburn region’s natural beauty and community spirit — and a real boost for local tourism,” Go Seymour executive officer Sissy Hoskin said.
Support for Gravelista is part of our strong investment in regional cycling, including $800,000 from the Victorian Budget 2026/27 for the Ride High Country Marketing Phase two project, which aims to support longer-term tourism in the region.
This builds on $3.5 million provided to the Ride High Country Fund to help businesses expand services for cyclists.
