Against the backdrop of scrumptious scones and adorable frizzles and silkies at the poultry club, I am still buzzing after a fun-filled weekend at the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo.
It is only day three and I have been made to feel incredibly welcome.
Thank you to everyone who has gone out of their way to bring me up to speed with all the different people and organisations who help make this region so great.
Over the coming weeks I am really looking forward to meeting as many people as I can to bring you the most relevant stories from across the region.
Taking on this role at The Telegraph is an exciting shift in gears.
Over the past few years, my media work has been in radio and podcasting.
This has included working as a reporter for The Wire on the Community Radio Network and the host of podcasts such as Imagining Australia and re:location.
All this means you shouldn’t act too surprised if I pull out my microphone every now and then.
In my spare time you will find me on a hike, at a gig, a craft brewery, cheering on the Bombers or playing a bit of jazz.
I have played clarinet since I was little and over time I have added saxophone and guitar to the mix.
Feel free to drop into the office at any time or email me at evan.wallace@mmg.com.au
See you soon!
