Four Greater Shepparton schools will receive funding to prepare for bushfire season

The funds will go towards vegetation clearance and other bushfire preparation activities to reduce the risk of harm from bushfires.

Bushfire-prone schools will also receive two visits every three years by an accredited bushfire planning and design expert.

The experts will provide the schools a individual vegetation management plan.

"This funding gives peri-urban and regional families peace of mind that their local school is prepared for bushfire season well before it begins,“ Emergency Services Minister Vicki Ward said.
