16°CBeloved wife, sister and aunt
Betty Hagon
(7 Oct 1931 - 22 Oct 2026)
passed away peacefully after a brief stay in hospital. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Brian Hagon (died 30 July 2007).
Betty (nee Fung) is preceded in death by sister Kathryn Moy and brother David Fung. She is survived by her sisters, Aimee Poy of Wellington, New Zealand, and Kitty Chang of Auckland, New Zealand, as well as her nieces and nephews, who will forever remember her for her gifts of knitted garments. She was especially close to Patricia Poy and Richard Poy, who lived nearby and were a loving source of support.
In her professional life, Betty had a career in nursing in New Zealand, Hong Kong and Australia; most latterly at Sydney Hospital, and held a multitude of qualifications. At home, she enjoyed knitting and reading, playing the pokies at Chatswood RSL and going for walks through the suburbs.
Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and
all who knew her.
Fiercely independent, Betty did not want a funeral, so a private ceremony will be held.
If you’d like to celebrate Betty’s life, the family asks that you enjoy a piece of dark chocolate as you think of her.
