16°CDomenico (Mimmo) Minniti
1 year anniversary
Domenico, affectionally known as Mimmo,
was more than a barber,
he was a cornerstone of the Reservoir community.
For over 50 years, Domenico dedicated his life to the art
of barbering in Australia, with the majority of those years spent at 950 High Street, Reservoir, where his shop became an icon and a meeting place for generations of locals.
His chair welcomed everyone young boys getting their
first haircut, working men stopping in for a trim and conversation, and families who returned decade after decade.
Known for his warmth, humour many jokes shared and old-school craftsmanship, Domenico built more than a business; he built lifelong friendships and a legacy that stretched across three generations. His barber shop was a place where stories were shared, advice was given,
and everyone was treated like family.
One year after his passing, Domenico (Mimmo) is deeply missed by all, especially by wife Antonietta. His legacy continues through the family, the community he loved, and the countless lives he touched throughout more than half a century behind the barber’s chair.
High Street Reservoir will always remember Domenico —
not only as a barber, but as a true gentleman and local legend.
