Rushworth vs Lancaster
With both sides looking like contenders again this year, the contest between Rushworth and Lancaster looked an important one for both clubs.
At Rushworth Recreation Reserve, it was the Wombats who got the better of the Tigers once again, claiming a competitive victory 53-44.
The result solidifies Rushworth (6-3) out of the top three in the short term, one win back from the leading trio and with one more game played than the Wombats.
Lancaster (7-1) is right on the heels of Nagambie (8-1) and leader Shepparton East (8-0).
Merrigum vs Longwood
Merrigum handled struggler Longwood this week.
The Bulldogs jumped into the top six with a strong result over struggler Longwood.
Merrigum dominated the game throughout in the 61-23 thrashing, leapfrogging both Violet Town and Avenel to return to the finals places.
At 4-1-3, the Bulldogs will now look to push on and secure that finals berth, with both the Towners and Swans just half a game back.
Girgarre vs Undera
At Girgarre Recreation Reserve, the Roos continued to pile on the misery for winless Undera, winning 56-43 on their home court.
Girgarre improves to 3-6 on the year, still an outside finals chance if it can step up its game in the second half of the season.
Meanwhile, Undera continues its search for a first win, now unsuccessful through nine games.
Stanhope vs Tallygaroopna
The Lions were well handled by a Redlegs side eyeing the top four at Stanhope Recreation Reserve.
Tallygaroopna surged by the lower-table Stanhope, taking the four points 53-29.
The Lions are now 2-7 on the season, sitting in 11th place.
In the other results from the round, it was business as usual for leader Shepparton East, rolling through Avenel 60-35.
Fellow top-two side Nagambie won comfortably over Murchison-Toolamba 51-24.
Violet Town had the bye
Next week, the Towners host Rushworth, Merrigum visits Avenel, and Shepparton East travels to Undera in a likely mismatch.
Lancaster is at home to Stanhope, Girgarre is on the road at Murchison Toolamba and Nagambie is away to Tallygaroopna.
