The Amigos faced the Kilmore Cobras in the first match of the night. The Amigos dominated the night, but the Cobras never gave up the fight, winning the last two games to go down 9-2.
Amigos captain Mark Robinson finished the night with five pegs, a 120, 131, 134 and two 180s. Torin Helmore hammered in six pegs, including a high peg of 113. He also scored nine tons, three 140s, and a 180. Darren Withoos hit two tons and a 138, and Shantelle Collings slipped in two tons and a 121.
The Cobras’ Rohan Clancy top-scored for the visitors, banging in three tons and a 140. Rob Davon returned to the team this week, throwing two tons, and Josh Read nailed a 140.
Pirates 7, Badass 4
The Pirates locked horns with Badass in the second game of the round. The Pirates gained the ascendancy early after winning the opening three games of the night. They then won three of the next four to put the result to bed, running out 7-4 winners.
The highlights for the Pirates included three tons, two 121s and two 140s for Zane Kilroy; Steve Kilroy bashed in three tons, a 120 and a 123, and Dan Kilroy snagged two tons and two 140s.
Peter Myles led the way for Badass, scoring eight straight tons; Gary Power fired in two tons and a 140 to go with a high peg of 96; Anthony Wallis shot a ton and a 123, and Christine Lorenz hit a 114.
Aces 1, Kings 10
The Golf Club Aces hosted the final A-grade game for Round 10. The Broadford team went toe to toe with the Kings in what turned out to be a one-sided battle. The Kings banked the four points with a 10-1 win.
The Aces’ Dave Ring was the only player to register a win; he also scored a high score of 121. Mark Jones smacked in three tons and two 140s, captain Steve Raynor sneaked in two tons, and Alan Sharp nailed a 130.
The Kings’ highlights included seven tons, a 118 and a 140 for Rob Welsh; Adam Lynch slotted five pegs, five tons, a 131, 140, 156 and 180; Terran Crispin fired in five pegs, six tons, a 112 and a 121 and Anthony Bohlmann rounded out the match with two tons and a 140.
Jacaranda 10, Tiger-neers 1
The Jacaranda hosted the Tiger-neers at the Royal Hotel in Seymour in the first B-grade game of the night, with the Pyalong team getting the job done 10-1.
Aaron Ballantyne dominated the highlights for the Jacarandas, notching the team’s only win while scoring a ton, a 120 and a 125. Sharlene Bartolo was the only other player to hit a recordable score; she scored a 124.
The Tiger-neers’ Jack Stephens was in red-hot form, spearing in two tons, a 130, a 140 and a round-high peg of 150; Jamie Biagioni smashed in five pegs, including a high peg of 86, he also scored two tons, a 105 and a 125, Mark Ruddick hit five finishes and high scores of 116, 125 and 140 and Mitch Wittig chimed in with a singleton.
Rascals 5, Convicts 6
The Convicts took on the Royal Rascals at the Royal Oak Hotel in Kilmore. The Convicts got the jump early to lead 3-1, but the Rascals fought back in the next six games to level the score and force the result to be decided in the final game of the night.
The Rascals took the first leg in the tie-breaker, but back-to-back victories for the Convicts saw them pinch victory from the jaws of defeat, taking home the chocolates with a 6-5 win.
Peter Browne was stoic for the Convicts, snagging four tons and a 140, and Eoin Flynn was the hero of the night. He got his team over the line in the final game and also banged in a 140.
The Rascals’ highlights included a ton and a 125 for Belinda Reid. Noel Whittling chipped in with a ton, while Allan Solomon stole the show with a high score of 156.
Marauders v 26ers
The final game of the round was between the Marauders and the 26ers, but no scoresheet was provided.
