Weekend pennant – division four
Seymour hosted Tallygaroopna on the synthetic green, with the visitors too strong in three of the four rinks, winning by 14 shots overall. Despite the loss, Seymour hangs on to fourth spot on the ladder.
Dennis Klein’s rink was slowly away, winning just one of the opening seven ends.
Despite drawing level twice, they never led and couldn’t match Tallygaroopna‘s finish, going down by nine shots.
It was close for much of the contest for Steve Reed’s rink before Tallygaroopna won five consecutive ends from the 18th end. A good finish from Seymour reduced the final deficit to three shots.
Fitzy’s rink was never really in the hunt, winning only six ends with 20 ends played. They finished okay, and the final losing margin was a respectable seven shots.
Eliot Jarman’s rink flew the flag for the home team. After taking the lead on the third end, they took a game-high 10-shot lead after 19 ends and finished well enough to win by five shots and secure two valuable points.
Dedicated: Men’s pairs runners-up Graeme Flint and Adam Ellerton with champions Gerard O’Sullivan and Greg Whiteman.
