Yarrawonga 60 def Myrtleford 50
A beautiful sunshine filled day on Saturday was the perfect backdrop for A Grade’s match, but more importantly for Ladies Day that followed on afterwards.
Myrtleford are always a tough opponent with young, versatile midcourters, and a talented goal shooter.
The A Grade were missing three defenders in Hannah, Kylie and Liv.
Anna Grinter and Maisee Pell stepped into goal defence and goalkeeper for the full match.
They combined beautifully and gave a complete 60-minute effort.
Two crucial rebounds and one turnover in the final quarter, turned out to be all A Grade needed to come away with the victory.
Maddy Allen was a standout in the attacking end, putting on a performance for her parents who had travelled from the Colac area to watch.
Accurate, poised and agile, Allen made it hard for opposition defenders all day.
A Grade is happy with where they currently sit with so far this season, that is proving to be very tight.
Best: Laura Irvine and Maddy Allan.
B Grade

Yarrawonga came out strong and dominated the whole game against Myrtleford in B Grade competition.
Ellie and Dee worked well together in the circle with the support from Emma in wing attack, who really impressed.
Ange provided the goalers with some relief and worked hard in the circle.
Millie played a solid game for the whole four quarters and provided strong leads down the court.
Jac continued the defensive pressure down the court and got her hands to some great intercepts.
A stand out game for Grace and Kira who both combined well and got some strong rebounds.
Myrtleford were never in the game.
Mia played her first game in B Grade and has really played well this season, earning a deserved call up to B Grade.
Kirby also got a call up and provided defensive pressure to Myrtleford attackers.
Best: Ellie Dickins and Grace Stoddard.

Under 17

Under 17 girls fought hard all game but were outclassed by a strong Myrtleford side.
Best: Jedda Driscoll and Leni Ramsdale.
Under 15
Yarrawonga 14 def by Myrtleford 31
A well fought game by the under 15s against Myrtleford.
The girls held a tight race in the first half, with only a couple of goals in it.
The defensive end worked hard to turn the ball over which the girls transitioned beautifully down the court.
The attacking end worked hard, fed the ball well and remained patient throughout the game.
Unfortunately, the under 15s went down in the end, but they kept pushing all the way through.
