Local players have made the annual pilgrimage to compete in the talent-laden Northern Territory Football League this summer, a new-look competition now three rounds into its season.
So, who has decided to lend their services in the 10-team Premier League?
Kyabram captain Aidan Robinson made his first NTFL appearance in three years, suiting up for Southern Districts and wasting no time settling in during the Crocs’ 17-point win over last season’s grand finalist St Mary’s.
The Bombers veteran, who booted 33 goals in the GVL this year, was influential for the Crocs, named in the best players to fire the ladder-leading Southern Districts to a third straight win.
Meanwhile, Kyabram teammate Jack Sinclair and Rochester’s Mitch Trewhella reacquainted in the clash between Wanderers and reigning premiers Nightcliff.
Trewhella, Nightcliff’s reigning best-and-fairest, had the last laugh as the Tigers romped to a 10-goal win, with Sinclair among Wanderer’s best players despite the loss.
Premier League newcomer Banks features Euroa’s Cohen Paul, Echuca’s Jackson Stewart, and ex-Murray Bombers flag winner Matt Lias, but the Bulldogs’ campaign for their maiden win will have to wait after former Shepparton United forward Jayden Magro helped Waratah to a 45-point win.
The Brad Ryan-skippered Pint has injected a swathe of Murray Football League stars, including Congupna flag-winner James Boyer and Mulwala’s O’Dwyer Medallist Will Cookson.
Cookson booted two goals and was the Greenants best player on the day, but they were unable to overcome a revitalised Palmerston, who ran away with a 30-point win.
