In the under-18 Lawn Bowls State Champs, several Goulburn Valley Devils came away with medals around their neck.
Wunghnu’s Jacob Cartwright came home with a proud collection, winning gold in the triples with Deer Park’s Addy Ryan and Harry Coleman, while collecting silver medals in a mixed pair with Marli Malcolm from Mitcham Bowling Club.
Cartwright completed a podium trifecta too, winning silver in the boys singles competition.
Kyabram-based Devils squad member Mackenzie Parsons represented Moama and secured silver in the girls singles, while another Wunghnu bowler Hayley Newby won gold in the girls pairs with Deer Park’s Ryan.
Shepparton Golf’s Charlie Boswood also won first prize in the boys pairs with Deer Park’s Coleman.
Additionally, Kyabram’s Liam McInnes collected silver in triples, albeit he does not represent the GV Devils, rather the Bendigo Dragons squad.
The open-age state championships are being held this week, with the champion of champions matches to be held across the weekend and early next week following the incoming state champs results.
