GOULBURN MURRAY CRICKET
Echuca Cricket Club is celebrating a fourth straight Goulburn Murray Cricket John McMahon Shield premiership win after an emphatic triumph over minor premier Rochester at Bamawm.

Led by James Grixti, Echuca’s batters set up the victory on the first day, Saturday, March 8, in the 80-over contest, posting a commanding 8-297.
Grixti received most support from Kobyn James with a patient 60 off 97 balls, whcih included eight fours and two sixes, and Anthony Dennis with 63 off 73 deliveries.
Openers Curtis Townrow (35) and Brendan Moyle (25) gave Echuca the start it wanted after Echuca won the toss and batted first.
New ball bowler Adam Ward, with 4-100 off 22 overs, was Rochester’s most successful bowler, with Shaun Wiliams and Dylan Cuttriss the most economical.
Most of Rochester’s frontline batsmen got starts in the challenging run chase on Sunday, March 9, but Vidhor Yadav’s 40 was the top contribution.
Adam Ward (37) and Dylan Cuttriss (34) gave him most support as Rochester succumbed in 59.5 overs for 196.
Aidan Young with 4-32 off 14.5 overs and skipper Simon Maddox with 3-36 off 14 overs did most damage with the ball for Echuca.
