The extra competition was the best nine out score and that also went to Di Byrne with 18 points, with the ball pool including Byrne and Dale Stuart with 33 points.
In the men’s results, the best score of the day went to John Boruch (14) who had a terrific score of 41 points to win B-grade.
Graeme Drummond (13) was the A-grade winner, with a good score of 40 points.
Nearest-the-pins went to Sean Boland on the sixth, Darren Cook on the 12th and James Bottaro on the 17th.
The ball pool included Boruch, Drummond, Boland, Paul Neibling, Kane Falconer and John Mundy.
The mixed nine-hole competition was won by Stubby Byrne with 16 points on a countback form Bill Brock.
Saturday was a mixed or men’s Pinehurst event, with pairs being decided by a draw before tee-off.
The best combination on the day was Bill Schaeffer-Steel (10) and Don Gee (23) who had a great score of 65.5 to win the day.
The runner-up were the team of Matt O’Sullivan (1) and John Callaghan (13) with a score of 67.
Nearest-the-pins went to O’Sullivan on the fourth, Roger Edwards on the sixth, Callaghan on the 12th and Schaeffer-Steel on the 17th.
Next Friday, the social holes will be played between holes six and 16.
On Saturday, the competition will be stableford and the main hit-off will be between 8.30am and 9am.
Players who are looking to play later than that should organise their own playing group.
