From October 6 to November 2, customers can purchase a $2 token or round up their purchase to the nearest dollar to donate to the Good Friday Appeal.
The Good Friday Appeal has partnered with Woolworths across all its Victorian stores for more than 34 years. Since 1987, customers have helped raise more than $24 million for vital services for patients and their families.
Funds from the appeal will be used to expand and enhance innovative models of care for children, including their in-house television program to help engage and empower children to cope better while in hospital, educational therapy programs to help reduce fear and anxiety, and pain management programs.
Woolworths Seymour store manager Ray Whyte said together with customers, Woolworths was pleased to continue supporting The Royal Children’s Hospital.
“These donations have a direct positive impact on many families and proves a little bit of good can go a long way,” he said.
“The dedication and support of our team and the generosity of our customers means we can make a real difference in caring for the community, and we thank all our customers who can make a donation.”
Good Friday Appeal executive director Rebecca Cowan said the hospital was committed to making a difference in the lives of patients and their families by funding projects that help provide the best possible care.
“We are thrilled that Woolworths is supporting our efforts to do so,” she said.
“We’re equally thankful to all customers for their kindness and generosity. These funds will help the hospital remain a world leader in paediatric care.”
