The man entered Aldi about 3.40 pm on May 20 and put a bottle each of scotch and Jim Beam down his pants before leaving without paying.
The man was chased by two witnesses who confronted him and he handed back the bottles before walking away.
The man is described as Caucasian, about 40 years old with a tattoo around his right eye. He was wearing a black puffer jacket, black hoodie and black pants.

Shed burglary
Police are looking for information after a burglary in Seymour.
Offenders stole stole an Engel fridge and a gas cooker in a black case worth $1800 from a shed at the back of a Wimble St property between 3 pm on May 21 and 8 am on May 22.
The resident of the property did not see or hear anything.
