Jack Nichol: I love milking the cows with dad, we don’t have cows but our next door neighbour has about 250. Dad drives trucks for Nichol Trading, which makes him pretty tired. He falls asleep on the couch. He barracks for Carlton and so do I, so we are both pretty happy at the moment. One of the places I really like going with dad is to the gun club together. He is a really good shot.
Ralph Murray: My favourite thing about my dad is that he plays football with me. He is a Carlton supporter and so am I. Dad usually likes to eat meat, but I like sausages. I really like it when he cooks them on the barbecue. Mum makes the rules in the house and dad follows them. I have two brothers, one older and one younger, they like soccer and the little ones likes McDonald’s.
Ava Rasmussen: My dad is funny, he does makes up good stories and tickles me. Dad is good at fixing things, even though he works as a financial thingy. When we get time together by ourselves I love to go out and throw the netball with him, but he isn’t as good a catch as me. I have two brothers, they are both older. Dad and I play Uno together, which he is pretty good at.
Will Frawley: My dad and I go to the pub to get pizza on a Monday night. That is one of my favourite nights. Dad is a good cook and does a good roast chicken. Dad is a plasterer and he has been really busy lately. His favourite thing is drinking beer in the shed and we get sticks out and put them in the fire. It is always warm out there. Mum likes it when dad cooks, because she doesn’t have to.
Evelyn Pump: We have a special thing we do together, where we swing the baseball bat. Once I accidentally hit the ball over his head and hit his shed. His shed is his special place, he makes everything for my mum out there. Dad gets pretty sick of making stuff. He is very good at it though. For a job he works on sites and fixes stuff for people. He likes to relax in his recliner, where he eats lasagne, but he won’t eat tacos on the arm chair because he makes a mess.
Emily Jane Mays: Dad is the best at doing his work. He does earthmoving and has a bob cat and heaps of tools in his shed. He actually has two sheds, one is where he keeps our bikes and the other one is where he goes when he comes home from work. He can fix most things. He likes spending time with me and we normally watch movies. He likes anything with The Rock in it. We went to the beach together and we did some surfing, but we just like the little waves.
