Valley Sport recently announced Level Up, an online platform set to provide clubs with the resources they need to meet child safe compliance requirements with confidence.
Level Up is a practical and accessible tool that aids clubs, coaches and volunteers to build a safer and more inclusive sporting environment for children and young people.
Co-created by industry-leading experts, child safeguarding specialist Sam Dellamarta and inclusive sport specialist Michael Woods, the platform aims to ensure it reflects best practice and real-world applicability.
With support from Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Together More Active and Sustainable Volunteer Workforce programs, Valley Sport is rolling out the platform to all clubs across Moira, Mitchell, Murrindindi, Benalla, Strathbogie, Mansfield and Greater Shepparton Shires from Monday, August 4.
Features of Level Up
- Step-by-step guidance aligned with the Victorian Child Safe Standards
- Interactive education modules for coaches and volunteers
- Editable policies, templates and practical resources
- A recognition system to acknowledge clubs taking proactive steps
“In the lead-up to International Safe Sport Day on August 8, there’s no better time to be supporting clubs to embed child safe practices,” Valley Sport executive officer Megan Carr said.
“Child safety is a shared responsibility, and Level Up gives clubs the tools to embed good practices into their everyday operations.
“We’re proud to be walking alongside clubs as they build confidence, understanding and stronger systems.”
Through this rollout, Valley Sport is set to support access to the Level Up platform and support clubs to work through the platform at their own pace.
Designed specifically for community sport, Level Up breaks down complex compliance requirements into manageable, achievable actions, which Valley Sport suggests is especially valuable for regional and volunteer-led clubs.
