Originally planned for Broadford Hall, due to COVID-19 restrictions the concert will now be held outdoors at Hudson Park in Kilmore on Saturday, February 12, from 5pm to 9pm.
The event will see Mallrat and Ninajirachi fronting the stage, along with other triple J Unearthed artists and district band Madoja.
Madoja is made up of James Hardman and brothers Max and Doug Hooper.
Playing a mix of blues and pop-inspired music as well as some heavy metal and a rock/psych blend, Madoja has since released its Walkin Talkin album and performed at multiple live events in Mitchell Shire and Melbourne.
“Forming the band was a bit on the fly but we’re loving it. We’re very proud of the album and can’t wait to perform some songs from it at the all-ages event,” Max said.
“Stage time is hard to come by when you’re an emerging artist and it’s been even more difficult with everything shutting down due to COVID-19.
“So, events like this give us a chance to perform to an audience of music lovers and have our sound heard by people in the industry.
“We’re very grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get on stage in Kilmore.”
Mitchell Shire Council has teamed up with The Push to bring the popular all-ages tour back to regional Victoria again this year after the success of the 2019 tour.
The tour, which includes shows in 20 regional and outer-suburban locations across Victoria, was aided in bringing live music fans from across the state to enjoy the local scenes.
“We’re very excited to have the all-ages tour coming to Kilmore,” Mitchell Shire Mayor Bill Chisholm said
“It’s a chance for locals to get out and enjoy some live music that has been missing during the pandemic.
“It’s also a fantastic opportunity for local bands like Madoja to get valuable stage time in front of a live audience."
Each of the tour’s 20 events are being staged by teams of local young people as part of the FReeZA program.
FReeZA is a Victorian Government initiative that supports young Victorians to get involved in their community by planning and running drug, alcohol and smoke-free events for other young people.
Those aged 12 to 24 who would like to be a part of Mitchell Shire’s VOLUME crew, the team running the event and others throughout the year, are encouraged to email youth@mitchellshire.vic.gov.au
The Push All-Ages Tour is drug, alcohol and smoke-free and is a supported and staffed by Mitchell Youth Services.
Council will monitor the ongoing situation and make any necessary changes to help support a COVID-safe event.
Attendees aged 18 and over must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a medical exemption as a condition of entry. Patrons are asked not to attend if unwell or told to isolate.
