Seymour Health is feeling the love after two donations from Coles and Woolworths to thank the team for its work during the pandemic.

Theatre staff enjoyed a generous hamper donation from Coles Seymour, which coincided with Perioperative Nurses Week (October 3 - 9).
This is the Australian College of Perioperative Nurses’ time to celebrate their profession, their people and the essential role theatre nurses play in the healthcare equation.
A trolley of treats was also received from Woolworths Seymour and will be distributed to staff across a variety of departments throughout the health service.
The trolley was filled to the brim with a range of food and non-alcoholic beverages in addition to a bunch of flowers for staff.
Coles Seymour store manager Caz Watson said the frontline workers in hospitals did an amazing job despite facing numerous challenges throughout the pandemic.
“We had a couple of customers that have praised very highly the work that frontline workers do, especially the Seymour Health team,” she said.
“Time out is quite minimal for them, which is why we donated a couple of hampers that could be shared across the hospital to show the appreciation of everything they do.
“The Seymour Health team help the community maintain its mental and physical health and I am not sure where we would be through this pandemic if it wasn’t for their hard work and care.”
Woolworths Seymour store manager Ray Whyte said his team wanted to provide essentials for the doctors and nurses on the frontline keeping communities safe.
“At Woolworths, we try to bring a little good everyday, and this is just a small token of appreciation to the team,” he said.
“We're hoping the fresh fruit, veg, health food and more, can fuel staff from shift to shift.
“The work that the staff of Seymour Health do is incredible. The doctors and nurses have proudly administered vaccines for our staff to keep our team and customers safe.
“On behalf of the team at Woolworths Seymour and I, we'd like to thank Seymour Health for their incredibly hard work and dedication to our town.”
Seymour Health chief executive Ward Steet said COVID-19 had introduced a significant number of new challenges and pressures for staff, so it was wonderful to know that the community appreciated and recognised the work the team did.
“It is a team effort. The wonderful care delivered by our nurses and the doctors could not occur without the extensive efforts of all the support staff working away in the background,” he said.
“Our cleaners, kitchen staff, finance team, the maintenance staff, administration support, allied health, supply and others.
“Each and every staff member at Seymour Health is an integral part of the care delivery system keeping our consumers and our community safe and I am very proud of them all for their dedication and hard work.
“The sheer volume of work involved with the pandemic has challenged many of us, however at the end of the day it is what we are trained for.”
