School graduations have become a rite of passage in our modern school years.

On Wednesday, December 8, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School held its end-of-year Mass, led by Father Tony Hill, where the whole school took part in the prayers, hymns, readings and communion service.
This was followed by each grade being presented with class graduation certificates and the four Grade 6 children receiving their certificates and medallions and some special end-of-year awards.
At the end of the ceremony Fr Hill thanked school principal Leo Jones for his 13 years of excellent principal-ship and support for the school and church community.
In response, Mr Jones said, “I came for one year, and ended up staying for 13”.
Mr Jones was presented with a graduation certificate by Fr Hill with the school staff standing nearby to wish him well and the school community cheering him on for his retirement.
On Wednesday, December 15, St Joseph’s Grade 6 students will have a celebration meal in the hall at 6pm. Then a Year 6 movie will be shown and the school concert at 7.30pm.
On Thursday, December 16, St Joseph’s final Grade 6 assembly is at 2.45pm. Then the graduates will walk under the school arch to symbolise their end of primary school years.
