With the Magpies taking out the first semi-final over St Mary’s, the grand final win proved sweet revenge for the Saints, who had to take the longer route to the big day.
And the flag was all but won by half-time, with the Saints kicking seven goals to two in the first half to build a 31-point lead.
The Magpies' efforts proved more effective in the second half, but the Saints held on to their lead to win the match.
Despite dealing with a suspected broken wrist post-match, Saints on-baller Fraser Rutherford took out best on ground honours, while Oliver Munro kicked four goals — including three first-half majors.
St Mary’s also challenged Broadford in the Under-16 grand final, but a second-half comeback from the Saints fell nine points short and the Kangaroos took home the cup.
St Mary's fell 26 points behind the Kangaroos ahead of the second half, though both teams were inaccurate (3.12 to 0.4).
But the Saints fought back, kicking 4.2 to Broadford’s 1.3, though it wasn’t enough in the end.
Broadford’s Lucas Cannizzo was judged best on ground for the winning team.
In the Under-12 grand final, a one-point thriller went the way of Alexandra, which took the title over Euroa, with the Rebels’ Drew Coller voted best on ground.
In netball results, Broadford’s Under-11s beat Euroa by three goals with Taylah Mason best on court, though Euroa claimed one back when it bested Broadford by 16 goals in the Under-13 title match, with Charlie Bromley voted best on the day. In the Under-15s, it was Tabilk that took home the title, defeating Euroa by six goals with Charlotte Mason taking out the individual award.
