Strathbogie Shire Council's Draft Sports Strategy 2026-2036 was put on public exhibition on Monday, October 26, setting out a long-term vision for sport across the municipality.
The strategy aims to guide future planning and investment in sporting facilities, infrastructure and participation opportunities over the next decade.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Scott Jeffery said community feedback would help ensure the final strategy reflected local needs and priorities.
“Sport is an important part of life in Strathbogie Shire, bringing people together, supporting healthy lifestyles and helping communities to thrive,” Cr Jeffery said.
“This draft strategy provides a roadmap for the future of sport across our municipality and we encourage everyone with an interest in local sport to take a look and have their say.”
The draft strategy was informed by community and stakeholder engagement, facility assessments, sports participation data and industry best practice.
It identifies priorities to increase participation, support local sporting clubs and volunteers, improve facilities, promote greater accessibility and guide future investment in sports infrastructure.
Community members can review the draft strategy and submit feedback online at share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au/draft-sports-strategy-2026-2036
Feedback can also be provided by email, mail or in person at council's Euroa and Nagambie customer service centres.
All submissions received during the exhibition period will be reviewed before the final Sports Strategy 2026-2036 is presented to council for adoption.
