Seymour Performers Workshop is set to dazzle audiences with two major events.
The seventh annual Seymour One Act Play Festival will take centre stage on Saturday, September 14, from 4pm to 8pm at the Seymour College Arts Centre, showcasing a diverse array of plays from Victorian theatre companies.
Festival director Brett Harvey thanked the Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn for its generosity, which made free entry possible.
“There’ll be plenty of tasty treats available for purchase on the day, as well as a licensed bar and home-baked goodies,” he said.
“There’s no need to pre-book, so come along and enjoy a wonderful afternoon and evening of live theatre!”
Come November, SPW will bring the musical Dogfight to life, drawing inspiration from the 1991 film.
Set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War, the story follows three young marines on the eve of their deployment on November 21, 1963.
The narrative revolves around Corporal Eddie Birdlace’s unexpected connection with Rose, a waitress, which challenges his world view.
Theatre enthusiasts can catch Dogfight at the Seymour College Arts Centre on the weekends of November 9 and 10 and 16 and 17.
