Construction and layout changes have modernised the store to a new ‘grab-and-go’ format, making it more convenient for shoppers on the move.
It’s part of Coles’ strategic investment in tailoring supermarkets to local communities that has seen more than 100 existing Coles stores converted to the new fresh convenience format.
The new design aims to suit the needs of busy customers, giving them plenty of fresh and ready-to-go options.
Store manager Caz Watson said the changes would make the store more accessible and more efficient for foot traffic.
“The deli has changed to the grab-and-go concept. We’ve introduced a lot more salads and sandwiches that are quick and easy for our customers,” she said.
“In addition to the fresh new look we have introduced a regularly rotating best buy section. Every fortnight there will be new deals and specialty items.
“We’ve also added a scoop and weigh section for lollies, nuts and pet foods. It allows customers to grab the exact quantity they want rather than buying bulk amounts.”
Ms Watson said the new store design better utilised the available space to make it a seamless experience for customers.
“It’s an older store so we wanted to give it a touch up and a fresh look. We think customers will love it because it better suits modern shopping habits” she said.
“We had a celebration and re-launch on March 5 with a cake to thank customers and our team for their support.
“I want to say a massive thanks to everyone who supported us. There’s been a lot going on and we’ve appreciated people sticking with us and being patient.”
