The Deni Angels of Chaos team - Peata Smith and Tracey McDaid - reached the magic $30,000 in a CBD pop-up on Saturday.
All proceeds go to the Cancer Council.
Next Thursday, June 19, the pair will be setting off starting in Mildura, and going to Townsville through South Australia and northern Queensland in their rally car Shitbox Sheila.
Mrs Smith said the route will include some of the most remote places in Australia, including parts of the Birdsville track.
The team has run several fundraising activities, including an All Aussie Trivia Evening and a major raffle valued at more than $5000 held last month.
On Saturday, the Angels of Chaos were at Frank N Beans Cafe providing the opportunity for community members another chance to buy team stubby holders, personalised Warriors/Angels stickers or support cloud stickers to put on their rally car, ‘Shitbox Sheila’, or make a donation before the journey.
Having reached the $30,000 target, on Sunday the pair gave out free sausages in bread and other goodies at their sausage sizzle at Dahlsen’s Mitre 10.
Mrs Smith said these events were done “to thank the Deniliquin community for all their support”.
While it is expected to be challenging, Mrs Smith said she and Mrs McDaid were “excited” and looking forward to the challenge.
