Nagambie Mechanics Institute Op Shop is back in business

‘‘I had so many people ringing up after the government let retail stores return, asking when we’d be open,’’ she said.

‘‘And I’ve been so busy ever since then.’’

The Nagambie Mechanics Institute wasn’t able to accept donations during the first lockdown, which led to a huge back-up of last season’s stock.

Ms Tanner is currently running a big winter sale to try to get rid of bulk stock that couldn’t be sold or donated in the first lockdown — and has been swamped by the response.

‘‘It’s very important for the town,’’ she said of the op shop.

‘‘All the money that we get from the op shop goes back into the hall; we’ve done so much terrific work here.’’

The op shop is open Wednesdays and Thursdays until 2 pm and Fridays and Saturdays until 12.30 pm.
