The new brand unites Greater Shepparton, Mitchell and Strathbogie under one destination identity, showcasing the region’s diverse experiences to visitors from Melbourne and beyond.
The Connect 26 event explores what makes destinations worth visiting, how to attract visitors and why collaboration is essential to building a stronger visitor economy.
Speakers include food writer Richard Cornish, John Ellenberger from Roy Morgan, tourism collaboration specialist Linda Tillman, and Joel Pearson and Craig Brooks from creative agency Not Bad Pretty Good.
Goulburn Region Tourism chief executive Jane Lovell said the day represented an important milestone.
“We’re launching much more than a logo or website. We’re creating a shared identity and giving visitors a fresh way to discover everything our region has to offer,” Ms Lovell said.
“From the wineries and waterways of Nagambie and the Strathbogie Ranges to historic towns and Shepparton’s contemporary arts, culture and food scene, we have an extraordinary diversity of experiences within easy reach of Melbourne.”
The launch also introduces G, a new digital travel companion at visitgoulburnregion.com.au, which creates personalised itineraries based on visitors’ interests, available time and travel preferences.
“Whether you’ve got a day or a weekend, G makes it easy to discover something new and plan an escape that suits you,” Ms Lovell said.
Goulburn Region Tourism chair Peter Russell said the launch marked an important step towards a more competitive visitor destination.
“Our greatest opportunity comes from working together, connecting our experiences and giving visitors more reasons to explore, stay longer and return,” he said.
