Mitchell Shire celebrates Australia Day with Community Awards and Citizenship Ceremony

The day will start at 9.30am with a Welcome to Country and a flag-raising with the Wallan Scouts, then continue to the Community Awards at 10am.

The awards to be presented are as follows:

Mitchell Shire Mayor Louise Bannister said the awards were a chance to express gratitude to those who work diligently for the betterment of our community.

“It’s also a chance to witness the excitement that comes with welcoming new Australian citizens,” she said.

“Officiating the citizenship ceremony is an honour that allows us to acknowledge the choices and achievements of those becoming new citizens.”
