On Tuesday, June 4, the Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn held a changeover dinner at the Seymour Bowls Club.

Over 60 people attended the dinner themed “Shades of Blue”.
The dinner saw the induction of their new board members by District Governor Lyn Perera.
Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn incoming president Tricia Stuart welcomed her new board and stated that her goal for the year ahead will be to raise community awareness of the club and its commitment to the town of Seymour.

District Governor Lyn Perera presented outgoing president Leonie Willis with the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.
The Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn said this is a well-deserved award for Ms Willis not only in recognition of her past three years as president but for her unwavering dedication and commitment to the Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn and the community of Seymour.
Ms Willis said she was overwhelmed and surprised when she was presented with her Melvin Jones Fellowship award and truly grateful to receive the recognition.
She expressed her thanks for the support she has received from her board and the dedicated members over the past three years, with the club achieving wonderful results with their fundraising efforts, especially during the flood recovery.
She also wishes president Tricia Stuart and her board continued success for the year ahead.
The Lions Club recently allocated funds to a number of groups in the community as a response to their requests for assistance.

Recipients Geoff Halpin from Seymour Historical Society, Ken Hall from Kings Park Committee of Management, outgoing president Leonie Willis, Katherine Treble from St Mary’s College and Captain Lauren Kirkham from the Salvation Army were present at the dinner.
Other recipients that were not in attendance included Seymour College, Light Horse Memorial Park and the Mitchell Shire Concert Band.
The entertaining emcee Lion Carol Smith, the delicious meal provided by JBL Catering and the assistance from the Seymour Bowls Club all contributed to a successful, fun evening.
