The white van crashed into a front corner of Kemp’s Furniture and Bedding on Anzac Ave just before 10pm Thursday.
Police, fire, ambulance and SES units all attended the scene.
The incident caused significant damage to the building and required inspection by a Mitchell Shire structural engineer.
Business owner Robert Kemp said he had to close the shop on Friday for a clean-up and to ensure the building was safe.
“We’re just happy that no-one was injured through it from our side and that it wasn’t at a busier time,” he said.
“If it was at a different time it might have been a different story.”
Mr Kemp also thanked emergency services for their response.
“They were excellent,” he said.
“The police were very helpful. SES people who attended and made the area safe were great.”
Police are investigating reports the van was seen travelling erratically along Anzac Ave and crossed to the opposite side of the road before the crash.
Sergeant James Rapa, of Seymour police, said the driver was taken to the Northern Hospital in Epping for treatment.
He said no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
