The subsidy is capped at $50 for worm farms and $30 for compost bins, with purchases available from participating retailers including Bunnings Seymour, Kilmore Mitre 10 and Pretty Sally Mitre 10 in Wallan.
The subsidy also now offers residents an opportunity to incorporate pet poo worm farms, which are available at Kilmore Mitre 10, into their home recycling routines.
This addition aims to help residents reduce household waste going to landfill while better managing pet waste.
The subsidy program began on Wednesday, October 1, and will continue until Sunday, November 30, or until funds are exhausted.
Residents can purchase their preferred composting system from participating retailers and submit a subsidy application through council.
