Peter Hagen’s next salon concert, Madness In Music, at his hall near Broadford will feature Kate Macfarlane’s “exquisitely sensitive voice” presenting dramatic songs by Purcell and Eccles, two leading composers in Restoration England at the end of the 17th centrury.
One of Australia’s top performers, Sam Cohen, will join Ms Macfarlane’s voice on theorbo and concert hall owner Mr Hagen will play the harpsichord and organ.

Mr Hagen said his hall, which had been host to acclaimed acts from across Australia for 15 years, added to the experience of the music.
“The venue offers a ‘right up close’ experience, as there are only two rows of seats in a semi-circle around the performers,” he said.
“The intimacy of the surrounds in a secluded setting makes the concerts here a highly pleasurable experience and, in addition, there are complimentary drinks from boutique wine maker Mike Boudry of Nagambie Terrace after the concert.”
Madness In Music will allow attendees to experience, through music, the mental states of lovesickness, anguish, loneliness, relentlessness and other disturbances in the safety of the little concert hall.
The concert will be presented on Sunday, April 12 at 4pm.
