Archer Rd has been closed from Asmin Dve to Kialla Lakes Dve due to flooding from the Broken River.
Update at 3:30pm
The Broken River at Orrvale is currently at 7.71 metres and rising with moderate flooding.
The river is likely to remain above the moderate flood level until Thursday morning.
A Watch and Act message has been issued for the Broken River downstream of Casey Weir.
Residents are urged move to higher ground away from the Broken River to take action to protect life and property.
What you should do:
- People in Orrvale, Kialla West and Kialla Lakes and surrounding riverside areas, including camps, should follow their emergency plan and locate their emergency kit, if they have one.
- Decide if you will evacuate if it becomes necessary.
- Farmers should move livestock and machinery to higher ground.
- Floodwater is dangerous and toxic - never drive, walk, play or swim in floodwater.

As rising water in rivers and creeks continues to impact Greater Shepparton, the SES has warned to expect flooding of low-lying sheds and garages in some locations near waterways.
The Peter Ross-Edwards Causeway between Shepparton and Mooroopna is not expected to close; however, riverside areas, camps and flats between Shepparton and Mooroopna will remain flooded for several days.
All vehicle and walking tracks within the Arcadia Streamside Reserve, Shepparton Regional Park and Gemmills Swamp Wildlife Reserve were closed on Monday, except for Park Bend off Rudd Rd.
A moderate flood warning has been issued for the Seven Creeks downstream of Euroa.
As of 2.30pm on August 12, moderate flooding was occurring at:
- Kialla West
- Broken River at Orrvale
Minor flooding is expected to occur along the Goulburn River in Shepparton.
Minor flooding has eased along the Seven Creeks at Euroa.
The Seven Creeks at Kialla West peaked at around 5.85 metres at 5am today with moderate flooding.
It’s currently at 5.82m and steady.
It is likely to fall below the moderate flood level of 5m tomorrow morning.
A minor flood warning was issued earlier today for the Goulburn River Seymour to Shepparton, including Mooroopna and Kialla.
Just before noon, the Goulburn River at Shepparton was at 9.4m and rising, with minor flooding.
It was expected to exceed the minor flood level of 9.5m today and peak near 10.2m from this afternoon.
The SES is urging the public to stay informed, monitor local conditions and remain alert.
The advice:
- Floodwater is dangerous. Never enter floodwater.
- Be prepared to act if your situation changes.
- Farmers should move livestock and machinery to higher ground if still safe to do so.
- If you are camping close to a creek or river, you may be at risk of rising floodwater and need to move to higher ground, away from waterways.

If you choose to leave:
- Remember to take your pets, mobile phone, spare clothes and medications.
- Travel to the home of family or friends who are in a safe location, away from flooding.
- Turn off gas and electricity at your home or workplace.
- Be aware of any road closures when you leave.
If you are travelling:
- Do not enter flooded areas. Turn around and find a safe alternative route.
- Be aware of road hazards, including mud, debris and damaged roads or bridges.
- Floodwater is dangerous — never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.
If you stay or if it is unsafe to leave:
- Make sure you have enough food, drinking water, medications and pet food to survive for three to five days in case you become isolated.
- Use plugs, sandbags or household items to block toilets, sinks and drains to stop sewerage backflow.
- Lift it. Move valuables and vital household items up on high surfaces, such as on top of tables, chairs, benches and beds.
