Given the growing complexities around our relationship with China, U3A Seymour and District will open its monthly Melting Pot series of talks with an experienced diplomat.
Bruce Nicholls served as a Senior Trade Commissioner for Australia in India, Germany, Switzerland, China and Hong Kong, where he was Head of Mission (Commissioner for Australia).
After returning to the private sector he served on the boards of four public companies and several public sector corporations, including as chairman of the Royal Automobile Club of Australia, director of the Australian Automobile Association, president of the Australia-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a trustee of the Committee for Economic development of Australia.
A community-minded person, Mr Nicholls has been a Rotarian for 32 years, a member of Landcare, a CFA volunteer and is currently the chair of a Melbourne-based public policy think-tank.
Mr Nicholls will talk about Australia’s relationship with China at Melting Pot — a U3A Seymour and District event — at 1.30 pm on March 3 at Chittick Place, Pollard St, Seymour.
The Melting Pot presentations are open to everyone in the community, with afternoon tea provided after the talk.
A gold coin donation is appreciated.
