Aged Care Employee Day is an official day to thank, honour, recognise and celebrate the hundreds of thousands of people who work in the aged care services industry across Australia.
But it wasn’t the only celebration for Karingal, as the aged care provider recently underwent its two-day unannounced site audit conducted by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
The outcome of the audit identified that Karingal Seymour had met all new standards that came into effect on July 1 this year.
Karingal chief executive Elizabeth Duggin said aged care was a profession that quietly went under the radar.
“In a time when the aged care industry is coming under immense scrutiny, it is wonderful to know Karingal Seymour is successfully meeting all the national aged care standards,” she said.
“The results from the interviews conducted by the commission during the site audit resulted in an overall score of greater than 96 per cent, with questions relating to respect, safety, meals, care delivery, staff kindness, feeling at home and how the facility is managed,'' she said.
“I am extremely proud of the ongoing success and achievements of Karingal Seymour.”
