On Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26, local residents and visitors got among the hustle and bustle of the Shepparton CBD for the Winter City Market.

The market was a Greater Shepparton City Council event, featuring a variety of stalls selling jewellery, candles, clothing and more.
Attendees could also refuel at food trucks and enjoy live music.

Council acting team leader of business and industry Megan Howard said the event aimed to drive foot traffic into the permanent traders, many of whom were having an end-of-season sale.
“It was an overwhelming success,” she said.
“There were so many families out and about, it was almost like pre-COVID.
“The idea was to create that market atmosphere with the stalls and the live music to drive people into our local businesses, and make people stick around and really make a day of it.”
