Jerilderie’s under-15s netballers had a hard fought three-goal win and advance to this Saturday’s grand final.
The under-15s played Tungamah on Sunday, and both teams came out strong, going goal-for-goal right up until the final quarter.
The Jerilderie defenders stood tall against Tungamah’s accurate shooters, applying just enough pressure to unsettle them in the final quarter.
The mid-court combination was outstanding, finding all the right spaces for passes and coming up with crucial intercepts when it mattered most.
As always, the shooters were fantastic in the ring, standing tall and shooting well under pressure.
The girls held their nerve, played with determination, and came away with a hard fought three-goal win.
Every player contributed to the victory, and should be proud of how far they have come.
The under-15s advance to the grand final to play the Deni Rovers, where they will look to carry their momentum and teamwork into one last big performance for the season.
Under-17s: Deni Rovers 48 def Jerilderie 32.
The under-17s went down to a strong and well-drilled Deniliquin side.
Despite the loss, the girls gave their all and showed great spirit right to the final whistle.
Injuries late in the season took their toll, and the team wasn’t quite at full-strength heading into the decider.
However, the effort and determination were there from start to finish.
Georgia Belling was outstanding, working tirelessly in both defence and the mid-court, constantly applying pressure and setting up opportunities.
In the goal ring, shooters battled hard against a tough Deniliquin defence, showing grit and persistence throughout the match.
While it wasn’t the team’s day in the final, the season has been one of progress, effort and strong team spirit.
