Ms Manning is currently the Victorian Sales Manager for Godolphin, bringing more than two decades of experience across the thoroughbred industry including breeding, yearling preparation and bloodstock sales.
Seymour Racing Club chief executive Chris Martin said the club was delighted to welcome Ms Manning to the board.
“We’re incredibly fortunate to welcome someone with Lisa’s depth of experience and passion for the thoroughbred industry,” Mr Martin said.
“Her knowledge across breeding, sales and the wider racing sector will be a tremendous asset to the Club as we continue to strengthen Seymour’s position as a leading country racing venue.
“Lisa’s perspective and industry connections will help guide the club’s future growth and support the continued development of racing in our region.”
Ms Manning began working in the industry in 2002 as a racehorse strapper after completing a Diploma of Horse Industry Management before developing a passion for preparing yearlings for sale while attending the Inglis Easter Yearling Sales.
She went on to work across several prominent thoroughbred operations including Vinery Stud as yearling manager, Reavill Farm as operations manager, and Newhaven Park as office manager, before joining Godolphin (then Darley) in 2015 as a stallion nominations sales consultant and relocating to Victoria in 2017.
Mr Martin also paid tribute to outgoing board member Gerard O’Sullivan for his outstanding service to the Club.
“Gerard has been a valued member of the Seymour Racing Club board since joining in October 2009 and has dedicated more than 16 years volunteering his time to support the club,” Mr Martin said.
“Throughout that time he has contributed countless hours around the club, often stepping in to lend a hand wherever needed, while also supporting the club through his business, O’Sullivan Builders.
“On behalf of the board, staff and members, we sincerely thank Gerard for his fantastic service and commitment to the Seymour Racing Club.”
