Following a tense and even first half, the Lions were far too strong for Rochester and piled on 35 goals to 14 after the main break to run out 24-goal winners at Kings Park.
Adamson was in the thick of the action in her milestone game, with her defensive pressure to shut down the corridor of the court a highlight, while Courtney Aldous was able to get her “hands on everything”, according to playing coach Ellie O’Sullivan.
The Lions’ mentor praised Rochester’s intensity and early fight to the contest — one that saw the visitors trail by three goals at the main break.
“Rochy really brought it to us and it was a pretty even game up until half-time,” O’Sullivan said.
“We had a better second half. I switched a few players around and changed up the combinations and things seemed to really click. Georgie Engal came into goal defence and played a strong half.”

Aldous was deemed best-on court, while star goaler Ella Tennant — in a surprise appearance following her decision to focus on work commitments in 2023 — shot “perfectly” in goals and gun defender Sarah Szczykulski was a standout in the defensive ring.
Although the rain dampened the playing conditions, O’Sullivan said it was still a great occasion to celebrate one of their own.

“It was really good to get the win for Casey. I think it often gets forgotten that she played with us all those years ago and it was nice to see her reach that milestone,” she said.
“She even said ‘gee, it took me long enough’.
“It was nice to acknowledge her contribution to the club. We love having her around, she’s such a great person and a fantastic player.”
