During the virtual event, league chair Quentin Thomas used the occasion to thank the league’s advisory committee as well as the countless volunteers that ensure junior footballers and netballers are provided the opportunity to take the field and court each week.
“Thanks to our advisory committee, the volunteers, the coaches and the parents. Your hard work ensures that our league happens,” Thomson said.
The league took the opportunity to celebrate some fantastic achievements throughout the season.

Junior Football Coach of the Year — Brooke Currell, Broadford
Youth Football Coach of the Year — Rebecca Clark, Alexandra
Junior Netball Coach of the Year — Sarah D’Orria, St Mary’s
Youth Netball Coach of the Year — Penny Van Lierop, Alexandra
11 & Under Netball Best and Fairest — Molly Fowler, Euroa
13 & Under Netball Best and Fairest — Ella Zotti, St Mary’s
15 & Under Netball Best and Fairest — Danielle Nadj, Alexandra
Under 13 Football Best and Fairest — Josh Porter, Yea.
Seymour District Junior Football Netball League Football Coach of the Year winners Brooke Currell and Rebecca Clark, alongside Wandong’s Grant Horton and Kristian Lemmar, and Broadford’s Drew Morton, were also nominated for the AFL Goulburn Murray Coach of the Year awards.
Molly Fowler from Euroa took the 11-and-under netball best and fairest award with 18 votes, over Seymour’s Paige Trodd on 12 votes.
The 13-and-under netball best and fairest was won in a close one by Ella Zotti on 17 votes, ahead of Alexandra’s Reese Stewart on 16 votes, and Broadford’s Cassandra Milner and Bridget Stute on 15 and 14 votes, respectively.
The 15-and-under netball best and fairest was won by Alexandra’s Danielle Nadj on 17 votes, ahead of a three-way tie for second between Sophie Allen of St Mary’s, Chloe Butterworth from Yea, and Seymour’s Mandessah Wyatt on 11 votes.
The under-13 football best and fairest was taken out by Yea’s Josh Porter with 23 votes, two votes ahead of Tabilk’s Campbell Baker.
Thomson wrapped up the night and looked ahead to what everybody hopes will be a much better year in 2022.
“It’s been a great year that didn’t finish the way we hoped, but we’ll be back better than ever in 2022.”
