With 19 minutes in the field, it was expected that all participants would have a chance for the win, but the limit group put paid to that with a very strong effort.
As is becoming the norm, the evergreen Jeff Hibberd led his mob to the win with one minute, 30 seconds to spare from the 14-minute pair, with the scratch pair a further two-and-a-half minuted back.
It was nice to see Lachie Lee back, turning out with a solid showing.
First over the line was Hibberd (19 minutes), second was Lee (19 minutes), third was Bret Bender (19 minutes), fourth was Glenn Christensen (14 minutes) and fifth was Ian Baker (14 minutess).
Michael Saunders (scratch) had the fastest time in one hour, 26.17 minutes (37.10 km/h).
Thanks to Bluey, Ted and Heather and Woofa Madex for helping run the race.
Saturday is the 47 km Northwood loop from Burgess Signs. Sign on is at 1 pm sharp for a 1.30 pm start.
