The Rams are well rested after a bye due to the split round, while Mulwala are coming off a narrow loss to a more accurate Finley side from Saturday.
Before their break, the Rams had a good win against Moama.
Rams head coach Ash Morris said the team are once again ready to test themselves against the best of the competition.
“We’re fresh off an early bye and excited to sink our teeth into attacking the benchmark of the competition for the last three years.”
While the Mulwala seniors side has not started the season in the peak form, Morris said he appreciates the calibre of opposition his side faces this weekend.
“I’ve got nothing but respect for the way Mulwala has gone about it, and there is a reason they are going for three premierships in a row.
“We’re playing some pretty good footy at the moment and will need to come into the game with plenty of confidence.”
History between the two teams has been on Mulwala’s side, with the Rams turning their attention to maximising their scoring opportunities.
“In previous games against Mulwala we’ve found it difficult to add scoreboard pressure, so that will be our focus.
“We can match them in the contest and make the most of our opportunities when we get momentum.”
As the Rams seniors prepare for the reigning premiers, the two ladder-leading reserves teams will fight it out to show the quality of the clubs on the Rams reunion weekend.
“The reserves head into a top-of-the-table clash, which will be an exciting curtain raiser to our reunion day,” Morris said.
