With a sizeable gap between the chasing pack and Nagambie, and no chance of the side jumping into the top two, the Lakers could have approached the game as one that bared little significance, but that was far from the case.

Nagambie took to the home court on Saturday afternoon with the same determination that they have shown throughout the season and dominated the game against Murchison-Toolamba, leaving with a 43-goal win.
In other results in the KDL, Avenel took a major leap towards a finals berth with an 11-goal win over Violet Town.
