Travelling to Hardinge St Oval, the Magpies opened their account with a four-goal flurry courtesy of usual suspects Mitchell Lake, Liam Barrett and Khy Stovell with Port Melbourne’s Fraser Rosman also contributing in his first game of the season in the black and white.
Meanwhile, Deni’s Bailey Townsend jagged one late in the first quarter to get his side on the board, with the difference 20 at quarter-time.
In a more subdued second period, Moama still managed to bag a couple of goals, with Barrett and Stovell leading the way, while the Magpies’ defence limited the Rams to a pair of behinds.
As the Magpies (3.4) flew away and extended their lead further, the Rams struggled, sneaking through a single behind in a consequential third term.
The Rams managed to slot a second goal down the stretch, but it was far too little too late, with Moama finishing its day with a tidy 2.2 to cruise to a 57-point rout.
The 11.8 (74) to 2.5 (17) lashing was the latest in Moama’s string of conquests that, with all things going well, will put them in a prime second-place behind Congupna for finals.
The Magpies have a relatively easy schedule remaining, playing finals hopefuls Tongala and Numurkah and Barooga the rest of the way, with the real possibility that they could go 3-0 down the home stretch.
Up first, Moama won’t have to go far in round 16, hopping over to Tongala for a date with the Blues.
