While the last of Rochester Football Netball Club’s sides departed contention in the Goulburn Valley League this weekend, there is still one Tigers’ side in the hunt for a premiership flag.

The Rochester Junior Football Club’s under-12 girls side surprised the minor premier St Francis Green side in a semi-final on Friday, August 28, 7.2 (44) to 2.1 (13) to head straight into the decider this Friday, September 11.
St Francis won its way back to the decider and will face off with Rochester again.
Ahead of the clash, take a look at the 20 Tigers who will be suiting up in search of premiership glory this Saturday.
Bec Duckworth: Strong defender that rolls through the ruck as well, long kick and a strong mark.
Billie Watson: Extremely reliable defensive player that can push forward. Loves to tackle and take a mark.
Frankie Hay: What can we say, the Victorian State Team vice-captain, league leading goal kicker. From the centre, a fierce, fast and highly skilled on baller.
Matilda Williams: Thumping kick, puts her head over the ball and loves to burst through a pack.
Zoe Mangan: Winger that reads the play well, great mark and an accurate kick.
Issy Ryan: Tough forward/winger that kicked her first goal in our first final. Can’t be hurt, always has a smile on her face.
Izzy Brooks: First-year player, a quiet achiever that has gotten better and better, loves a goal.
Annemarie Smith: Tenacious ball winner, hard tackler, controls the half back line. A welcome inclusion to the Tigers’ side this season.
Talisa Sinclair: An extremely quick mover and a sneaky forward that can kick goals.
Charlotte Wolfe: Versatile player that can play at either end of the ground. Loves a run in the ruck, takes a strong mark.
Mackenzie Harvey: Our ruck that has become one of our most reliable players, reads the play, can take a mark and loves a goal.
Sophie Godden: First-year player that has gotten better and better. Does not like to be beaten, full back that rarely has a goal scored on her.
Ella Forde: The General. Also made the Victorian State side. One of the best readers of the play in the league; hard tackler, never wastes the ball, sets up all plays going forward.
Scarlett Macfarlane: Don’t let her size fool you; often on the bottom of the pack, a ferocious chase down tackler.
Ava Rasmussen: Will not be beaten. Best tackler in the league, often taking down players much bigger than her. Our most determined Tiger.
Abbie Griffiths: Crafty winger. Loves to tackle and is often on the bottom of the pack, can sneak forward and kick a goal.
Alva Acocks: Winger and forward that can get her hands on the ball, has improved as the season has gone on.
Abi Reid: Quick and strong for her size, also a goal sneak as seen by her two goals in the first final. Quiet achiever.
Ella Mundie: Elusive, smart forward who loves to swing onto her left and snag a goal. Can have a run through the centre too, strong tackler.
Ellie Riordan: Forward who can sneak up the ground. Long kick with great hand skills and also known to kick a goal when needed.
