The Bears took the initiative from the off, racing to a 24-5 lead by the first interval after scoring the first seven goals of the round 17 clash.
Ky’s best period came in the second quarter, where it netted eight goals.
But Shepparton piled on another 23 at the other end to hold an unassailable 47-13 advantage at half-time.
The margin was pushed out to 50 by the end of the third period before Shepparton won the final quarter 27-6 to wrap up a comprehensive 95-24 win.
The Bombers were on the end of a 70-plus-goal defeat for the fourth straight week, but can look at their attacking output as a positive.
The 24 goals Emma Quinn’s side scored was the highest tally it had managed since round 13.
Jazmin Clark was the chief contributor in that department, scoring 15, while the other goalscorers were Ella Hooper (five) and Stephanie Iskra (four).
Clark’s display also earned her the team’s best-on for the day, announced via Kyabram’s Facebook page.
The Bombers will now prepare for their final match of 2026, taking on premiership contender Euroa.
Though the A-grade outfit had another tough week, there were some positive results recorded by Kyabram’s lower grades in action elsewhere.
On Sunday, August 16, two Bombers teams competed at the Castlemaine District Netball Association’s annual tournament with great success.
The Baby Bombers, Kyabram’s under-13 side, and its under-15s, both made it to the grand final of their respective divisions.
Neither side was able to win its decider, but both came away with runners-up medals.
